Practice location and directions

We are situated approximately 6 miles from Gloucester along the A40 between Gloucester and Ross-on-Wye. We are easy to find; approaching from Ross-on-Wye, you enter the village of Huntley we are opposite the King's Head Inn on the left hand side approximately 1 mile past Huntley. If approaching from Gloucester as you enter the Village of Birdwood, we are just immediately over the brow of the hill on the right hand side before you get to the King's Head inn.


Catchment area

Our catchment area extends over Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, South Shropshire and the Welsh bordering counties. We regularly visit areas such as Abergavenny, Hay-on-Wye, Monmouth, Gloucester, Malvern, Worcester, Hereford, Leominster, Bromyard, Ludlow, Ledbury, Bewdley and Kidderminster. Different areas are visited on particular days of the week.

Terms and conditions of Meadow Equine Practice:



Appointments / booking a visit

To book a visit please contact your usual Veterinary Surgeon directly on the mobile numbers listed above. In case of your usual Veterinary Surgeon being away / unavailable please contact one of the other Veterinary Surgeons directly to organise a visit. Please note our office line is purely for non-urgent matters, accounts and to register with the practice, all matters that may result in a visit, whether an emergency or a non-emergency situation, should be organised directly with the Veterinary Surgeons.


Weekend and evening visits

We prefer to avoid weekend and evening visits as it will allow us to concentrate on supplying an emergency out of hours service. We will though under special circumstance arrange weekend or evening visits if necessary.


Emergency call out

We operate an emergency service on a 24 Hour 365 Day a year basis, if you have an emergency contact the Veterinary Surgeons directly, you will be answered or directed to the on-duty Veterinary Surgeon.


Telephone advice

Advice over the telephone is always free! If you require any advice over the phone please do not hesitate to call to talk to one of the Veterinary Surgeons. If no one is available you can leave a message and one of the Veterinary Surgeons will contact you when free. If the advice required is non-urgent you can also email us. If advice is sort regarding a problem that may necessitate a visit please contact the Veterinary Surgeons directly.


Fees

All fees are subject to VAT at the current rate. Fees are derived from the time and level of skill required for a particular piece of work. On request we will be able to give an estimate to cost of consultations or treatments etc, however, variations and complications may alter the initial quoted estimate of cost of treatment, if any changes or additional charges arise these will be declared.


Payments

Accounts are invoiced at the end of each calender month and payment is requested within 30 days of receiving your invoice. Prompt payment allows us to keep our prices at a competitive rate. We reserve the right to charge interest per calender month on balances remaining unpaid after 60 days from the date of invoicing. We accept cash, cheque, BACS and card payments, please contact the practice office to perform card payments or return a remittance slip with the necessary card details. We accept Visa, Visa electron, Mastercard, Switch and Maestro. All account queries must be brought to our attention within 14 days of date of invoice.


Overdue accounts

After due notice and reminders, overdue accounts will be referred to our Debt Collection agency or the County Courts if satisfactory arrangements have not been made. Any costs incurred to the practice in trying to recover an outstanding debt will be added to that client’s outstanding account.


Failed payments

Cheques returned unpaid, credit card payments not honoured or cash that turns out to counterfeit will result in the account being returned to the pre-payment amount and any charges incurred added in addition. Unsettled accounts despite persistent requests will result in the practice terminating the practice’s services to that client.
