Equine Practice website
Introduction
We are a dedicated Equine Veterinary
Practice based at the nationally and internationally renowned sports horse stud; the Meadow Stud in the small village of Birdwood
just outside of Gloucester. We are a longstanding practice having been functioning for over 20 years, and having been
based at our current location at Meadow Stud for over 15 years.

MRCVS and Mr C.M.Paterson BVsc MRCVS are our veterinary surgeons and they are backed up by our loyal and enthusiastic office
team.
Equine Veterinary Practice
We provide an ambulatory service
covering all aspects of modern equine veterinary care, offering a high standard of veterinary care for our clients and
our equine patients. We regularly cover an extensive area including the western counties of England and the Welsh bordering
areas. We carry out many stud and stable visits each day to yards and establishments to see our equine patients.
A full range of veterinary
services are available from diagnosis and treatment of a whole range of diseases and disorders, and reproductive referrals
to a 24/7 emergency service, full details of everything we do can be found on the Services page.
We work with a wide-range of horses
from Flat and National-hunt race horses, breeding stock, and competition horses through to Hunt horses, Show Horses and leisure
animals.
Equine Stud Medicine Services
The majority of our work is
in our specialist field of Equine Stud Medicine, and as such we provide a specialised Equine Stud Medicine service
to stud farms and private breeders across our catchment area. Due to our interest and experience in Equine Stud Medicine we
regularly travel, under special arrangement, further out of our normal catchment area to consult on and undertake work
in this field.
We operate our Equine Stud
Medicine service from our base at Meadow Stud, accepting mares at the centre being bred to non-resident stallions
as well as overseeing the breeding of mares to the stud's current 8 resident
stallions.
These services range from
fresh, chilled and frozen artificial insemination to stallion fertility assessment, problem-breeder investigation
and foal intensive care. We are fortunate enough to have two veterinary
surgeons who have a great deal of experience and interest in Equine Reproduction.
We are always on hand for
advice regarding the best way to approach equine reproduction for every situation imaginable to try and get the best
