About us

 

We are a family run 100% equine veterinary practice based at the Meadow Stud in the small village of Birdwood in Gloucestershire. We act as a referral centre for Gynaecological / Reproductive cases and also as an ambulatory equine veterinary practice across the western counties of England and the Welsh bordering areas. The Meadow Equine Practice aims to offer a professional, compassionate and efficient service to horses and their owners. Our vets have a broad range of professional interests and enthusiasm for a wide variety of equestrian disciplines.

Stud medicine is of particular interest to our practice, it being the majority of work we undertake. We operate our Equine Reproduction Centre from our base at Meadow Stud, accepting mares at the centre to non-resident stallions as well as overseeing the breeding of mares to the Stud's current resident stallions. We are always on hand for advice regarding the best way to approach equine reproduction for every situation imaginable to try and get the best results for owner's and their horses in the least time and expense possible.
